Description

Take a walk into the Lion’s Mouth and join Amesbury Trails for this two-hour guided hike. This leisurely walk will start and finish at the Woodsom Farm sign (202 Lion’s Mouth Road) and will include Quimby Lane, site of the “Amesbury Massacre” of 1677, the Margaret Rice Conservation Area, the Great Swamp boardwalk, and the “Currier and Ives” vistas from the south drumlins at Woodsom Farm park.

Special Instructions

The walk, limited to 20, is mostly flat except for three small hills, including stops for natural and historical commentary. One of the trails is aptly named “Root Canal,” however. Children and leashed dogs are welcome.
