Event Hosts make Trails & Sails possible! They are small businesses, site stewards, advocates, volunteers, and passionate partners throughout Essex County that want to connect people with the many assets of this region. Do you have a historic site you want to show off? Or a special local industry you want to share with people? Contact us to learn more about opportunities to participate in 2023.

Community & Themed Flyers

To help Event Hosts promote the various events taking place in their city or town for Trails & Sails, community specific and themed promotional flyers will be made available that can be downloaded, shared, emailed, printed, or posted on social media! We plan to make these materials available in early August.

For Trails & Sails 2023, we are highlighting four themes of significant importance to the Essex National Heritage Area:

Looking to the Future – Events that demonstrate the importance of learning about where you live and caring for it, now and in the future.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage – Events that highlight and celebrate the significant contributions of the Latino community in Essex County.
Sharing Untold Stories – Events that uncover the lesser-known stories of the region, shedding light on a rich and diverse shared history.
Protecting Coastal Resources – Events that showcase the significant work being done to protect our most important resources, such as the Great Marsh.
