Description
Be inspired by the little-known stories of African American leaders from the Andovers: the Hinton Family (ice cream entrepreneurs), Cato Freeman (formerly enslaved church and community leader) and Salem Poor (Revolutionary war hero). From 10:30am -2:30pm, learn about these ancestors through a short program beginning each half hour. Kids will receive a free coloring book about the Hintons while supplies last.
From 1:00 – 2:00 pm enjoy ice cream samples to celebrate the Hinton’s ice cream business. Event sponsored by Mass Humanities.
Special Instructions
Program will be in North Parish’s Freeman Hall, which is reached via the door on Great Pond Road. Ice cream and coloring books available while supplies last.
