Essex Heritage CEO Annie Harris stopped by WHAV on Monday to celebrate the coming 25th anniversary of Trails & Sails and welcome both North Shore residents and visitors to attend.

Trails & Sails will take place Sept. 12–27 across all 34 cities and towns of Essex County, a region recognized as a National Heritage Area for its rich history, cultural treasures, and natural landscapes.
In her visit with WHAV’s Win Damon, host of Win for Breakfast, Harris shared that the more than 200 events offer something for everyone: Hiking, kayaking, trail walks, free museum entry, blacksmithing and sheepherding demonstrations, and cemetery tours.
“We are emphasizing the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, and there will be a number of special events,” she added.
Harris shared that Trails & Sails has launched a new website designed to help visitors plan and experience this annual event series. Events will be updated regularly. Essex Heritage will also release its annual Trails & Sails print guide in July.
“We want people who live here to engage with these places, right in their own backyard,” Harris said.
