Time Slot(s):
Description
Learn a bit of Middleton history on this tour and short urban walk which begins at the Flint Public Library. Here you will see stunning stained-glass windows, and hear about Charles Flint, the library benefactor. Then we will cross the street to tour Estey Tavern, built in the 1700’s and nicely restored to show many of the original features. Finally we will walk to the Tramp House for an inside look. The Tramp House is one of the few remaining tramp houses from the civil war era.
Special Instructions: The library is handicap accessible, however the tavern and Tramp House are not. The walking tour will cover 1/2 mile total and take about 1 1/2 hour. The event will be held rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. Participants may also drive to the Tramp House instead of walking the .2 miles.
