Description

Tour the 1683 home of the Reverend Joseph Capen. Reverend Capen lost three ladies from his congregation in 1692 who were falsely accused of witchcraft when that hysteria ravaged this part of New England. Today, the Parson Capen House is one of the finest surviving examples of Elizabethan architecture in America. The house is situated on a knoll overlooking the Common, originally on a twelve-acre lot of land granted Reverend Capen by the Town in 1682.

Special Instructions:
The Parson Capen House is not wheelchair accessible. There is a slight grade to access the Capen House.
