Rare opportunity! Interior tour of the c. 1728 & c. 1750 King Hooper Mansion (owned by the Marblehead Arts Association since 1938), with a focus on Robert “King” Hooper’s family of 4 wives (in sequence), 11 children (by just one), 4 step-children (2 married into the family), plus architecture. The tour will include 4 levels & stairs, from early cellar kitchen to 3rd-floor Federal-era ballroom that was probably remodeled 1805-6 by a developer who was turning the Mansion into a hotel, but fortunately did not. (Find out why!)
Special Instructions
Stairs – some steep, some easy. Enjoy the contemporary art exhibits throughout the house!
