After nearly 5 years in the making, the North Shore Community Development Coalition (North Shore CDC) is proud to present the completion of the Punto Urban Art Museum’s (PUAM) latest placemaking project, “Casa de Abuela.” This installation connects with immigrants in Salem by centering the stories of Dominican grandmothers (Abuelas) through a life-sized replica of a Dominican country house. Inside, visitors can explore Dominican culture through murals, soundscapes, and objects exchanged with real Abuelas.
