DIY Event: This  walk is part of the Ocean of Rivers project, which focuses on migratory fish and their historic importance to the area and the connection between human communities and the natural world.


HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Along our selected route, walkers will find QR codes. Using their smartphone, walkers can enjoy a physically distanced guided walk with videos, additional information about river species and restoration on whatever day, and at whatever time, works for them.


Summary of route: Trail starts at Lockwood Lane off Middleton Road, Boxford. Walk over arched bridge/culvert to cross creek from Crooked Pond. Follow the trail along Fish Brook to the bridge near the old beaver dam, at the edge of meadow/wetlands on Owen Land. Optional walk up to grist mill site on opposite side of Lockwood Lane.
