Description
Explore Rocky Neck with a guided tour of the neighborhood focusing on earliest residents, Native Americans, fishermen, inventors, tourists, artists and more! In appreciation of the unique continuum that is Rocky Neck today, this walking tour showcases both the rich history of Rocky Neck as well as the contributions and achievements of the present community. Rocky Neck Art Colony offers these tours as a partner in the city-wide effort to mark the 400+ anniversary of Gloucester.
Special Instructions
Tours last 1 – 1.5 hours and cover approximately .75 miles. Tours begin at the Rocky Neck Parking Lot and end at the Cultural Center, 6 Wonson Street. Tour participants are encouraged to park in the parking lot at the entrance to Rocky Neck(adjacent to 9 Rocky Neck Ave) where a volunteer tour guide meets the group. Comfortable shoes are encouraged. Be prepared to walk on uneven terrain.
