Description
The “Once and Future Salt Marsh” is an art-science installation that is a collaboration between Gloucester-based artists Susan Quateman and photographer Les Bartlett, Parker River NWR, and Marine Biological Lab. The installation uses three marsh critters to showcase the past (Rainbow Smelt), the present (Saltmarsh Sparrow), and the future (Saltmarsh Sparrow). Through these featured animals, the exhibit showcases how climate change impacts various animals that call salt marsh home. Pick up an exhibit tour sheet at the Refuge gatehouse.
