Description
A casual summer walk through Amesbury Town Forest (57 Kimball Road) to search for mushrooms and other interesting things and to meet other nature enthusiasts. I will have a sign-in sheet and a waiver for attendees to fill out upon arrival. We are finally getting some rain the days before the walk so hopefully there will be some fungi/plants to look for! Meeting at 11:00am, folks can stay as long as they’d like.
Special Instructions
TO WEAR: good walking shoes, long pants, brightly colored clothing (so we can see you), hat, rainproof clothes (if raining) TO BRING: water bottle, phone with GPS & camera capability, a bag/basket/ziplocks to collect specimens, bug spray, sun screen.
NOT REQUIRED BUT GOOD TO HAVE: whistle, satellite GPS device, mushroom knife, binoculars, mushroom ID books, snacks.
RULES: Stay safe, don’t eat any mushrooms we find (I am not an ID expert and will not conclusively ID anything, I will only give my best guess), don’t venture off alone, and HAVE FUN!
Weather Restrictions
This event will not happen if there is storm warning in Essex County or may be postponed if the drought conditions are not in favor of mushroom hunting.
