Description
Nearly 300 men from Methuen served in the Union Army during the Civil War. From the first shots on the streets of Baltimore in 1861 to the final battles near Appomattox Courthouse four years later, they fought in almost every major battle. For those who survived, nothing scared them. They “Saw the Elephant” and they were willing to take risks after the war. Discover the stories of some of these men who became the political and business leaders in the community and beyond.
