Description
Sir John Humphrey House, headquarters for the Swampscott Historical Society. See a first period National Register listed house along with indigenous geometric painted designs on the beams and paneling. Learn about our fishing industry, the era of summer hotels, the inventions of the lobster trap, dory and the role that was played in the development of the airplane. We also have apotropaic markings or witch marks.
Special Instructions
Guided tours will be offered at 10:15, 11:15 & 12:15pm. Please note that the house is not handicapped accessible and there is no air conditioning.
