SOLD OUT – Greenlawn Cemetery: A Place for Friends, Family, and Neighbors

Tuesday, September 22, 2026

2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Reservations are required for this event! See additional details below.

Join Ken Turino, Essex Heritage Trustee and formerly of Historic New England, and historian Chris Mathias for a two-hour walking tour of Nahant’s Greenlawn Cemetery, hosted by the Nahant Historical Society. You will see the plain markers of the victims of the wreck of the Charles A. Briggs during a winter nor’easter. See the headstone of a Nahant resident whose family included the names of their son’s fellow Navy sailors on his grave marker. They all died in the 1960 crash of a Navy Airship off the coast of New Jersey. All were lost at sea.

Please contact Nahant Historical Society directly to be put on the wait list.
