Description
In 1780, a twelve-year-old Lynn-er by the name of Esau Bancroft ventured out to sea aboard a privateer vessel, in service for the fledgling United States. For over two-hundred-years, his story has gone tragically untold. Today, new research finally brings his epic back from the briny depths, and sheds light onto a story too often omitted from the history books.
As we look to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, join Collections Manager Christopher Locke for an engaging presentation of Esau Bancroft’s story.
