Description

Visit Salem through the eyes of abolitionist, poet and teacher, Charlotte Forten as a young, African-American woman in the years leading up to the Civil War. About 2 miles. Some uneven ground.This program is supported in part by a grant from the Salem Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Special Instructions: Attendees should meet on the Essex Street side of the building. Weather appropriate clothing and walking shoes recommended. Some uneven brick and cobblestone.
