Description

Salem Maritime and Saugus Iron Works National Historic Sites invite you to explore and learn about the history of African American people, cultures, and communities in Essex County. Residents, historians, and scholars alike have been working to unearth this history and recover these fascinating stories in order to provide a fuller account of the county’s past and present. Join us this year through a hybrid of virtual and on-site activities. We will be featuring online multimedia resources and on-site experiences through the NPS Mobile App.
