Birding in the Great Marsh

Date & Time

Saturday, September 17, 2022

Time Slot(s):

10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Description

We will bird along the Hellcat Boardwalk, on Plum Island in the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, to see many of the habitats in the Great Marsh and the birds that are there in the late fall. Plum Island is an important stopover for birds migrating back south after breeding in the Artic tundra and the forests of Canada and northern New England, providing food to fuel their onward journey south to avoid the cold and dark of winter.

Special Instructions

Please inform the gatehouse that you are here for the Trails & Sails presentation, wear good walking shoes, binoculars and/or spotting scopes, hat, water, and sunscreen.
